Selecting the Best MLS Fantasy Players

The MLS season is in full swing and although it’s not easy to pick the best MLS fantasy players, we conducted a thorough research to assist you in making the MLS starting lineups for your daily fantasy football contest. There is no drastic difference between the 22 teams and the games are usually exciting with plenty of goals, and virtually, the underdogs can beat the favorite any day. Still, at the moment, we can highlight such teams as Toronto, Chicago, and New York City in the East, and Kansas City in the West. But the fight for the playoffs is on, and you should take a closer look at the following individuals and how they can enhance your chance of making money playing fantasy MLS.

Best MLS Fantasy  XI (3-5-2) Formation

We give you the best players who are currently the hottest choices in MLS fantasy 2017, so have a look at their numbers as we go from goalkeeper to forwards.

GK – Tim Melia (Sporting Kansas City)

Melia conceded the lowest amount of goals (12) in 18 appearances thus far, and even though his colleagues from attack are not very efficient, his defense is rock solid. So, you may also consider adding Melia’s defensive teammate, especially when Kansas is playing at home; they allowed only three goals in eight matches.

DF – Justin Morrow (Toronto FC)

Morrow is a part of the second-best defense in the league, and on top of that, he scored three goals and added an assist in 15 games, earning the MOTM award twice in the process. The 29-year-old is the highest-scoring defender in MLS, and that’s why he should be in your MLS starting lineups.

DF – Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)

Choosing two defenders from the same team can be tricky, but when Kansas plays well as they did so far, you shouldn’t worry about taking the right-back Zusi. He is a quite agile player who can cover the entire right flank if needed, and three assists he recorded is the result of his versatility. Playing alongside such a reliable goalkeeper like Melia certainly improves Zusi’s chances to record clean sheets as well. Zusi is probably the top RB choice in the MLS fantasy 2017 season.

DF – Florian Jungwirth (San Jose Earthquakes)

The Earthquakes are rather inefficient in the attack, but their defense is looking good, and Jungwirth has a lead role in their back four. The German can play equally well as a defender and midfielder, but his pair of goals and couple of assists came from the DC position, which makes him more valuable in the MLS fantasy.

MF – David Accam (Chicago Fire)

Accam is currently the MVP of the league thanks to his ten goals and six assists in 16 appearances. The left winger is working exceptionally well with his teammate Nikolic as they combined for 24 goals, so make sure they are both in your MLS starting lineups when participating in the daily MLS fantasy contest.

MF – Diego Valeri (Portland Timbers)

The Argentinian is the leader of the team that scored 31 goals, and himself contributed with nine, along with four assists. The classic No. 10 role suits him perfectly, and whenever he is in Portland’s lineup, Valeri should also be in your fantasy MLS starting eleven.

MF – Miguel Almiron (Atlanta United)

The front-man of the newly-formed Atlanta is also a leader of the highest-scoring team in the MLS. Former Lanus man can play at almost any position in attack, but he is the best when operating from the attacking midfielder role. Almiron bagged eight goals and recorded five assists, with three MOTM awards as well.

MF – Romain Alessandrini (Los Angeles Galaxy)

Alessandrini is the biggest soccer star in Hollywood following Steven Gerrard’s departure, and the Frenchman is having an excellent season with the Galaxy. Romain emerged as the leader when Dos Santos went to the Confederations Cup with Mexico and has a total of eight goals, six assists, and even six MOTM awards to his name.

MF – Federico Higuain (Columbus Crew)

Higuain is the Crew best player for years now, and there is no surprise why he found the place on our best MLS fantasy players list. The Argentinian recorded nine goals and a pair of assists, and there is no doubt he will continue to carry Columbus on his back for the remainder of the MLS 2017 season.

FW – Nemanja Nikolic (Chicago Fire)

The Serbian-born Hungarian is the most obvious choice for a place in the MLS starting lineups as he currently leads the league in scoring with 14 goals, three more than Erick Torres from Houston Dynamo. With such players like Schweinsteiger and Accam alongside him, Nikolic has all the support he needs to finish the season as the MLS top scorer.

FW – David Villa (New York City)

The legendary striker hasn’t lost his lethal touch, and even at 35, Villa is a nightmare for opposing goalkeepers and defenses. Ten goals and three assists for the Spanish veteran is an excellent achievement, and we expect more from him to come.

These eleven footballers are the best MLS fantasy players at the moment, and you should keep the close eye on them for the upcoming games. We are sure that these MLS fantasy tips will help you in winning cash prizes when playing the MLS fantasy at Sportito.
